Who knows why we click on what we do? Apparently, a lot of people do. And they work at companies like @BuzzFeed.
Today, I logged on to @Twitter and saw that the top trending hashtag in New York was #TextMessagesFromAStalker. Intrigued, I had to click. Those of you who know me, know I get all sorts of well-meaning messages on FB from viewers. And by well-meaning I mean gross and/or ridiculous. I’ll get to that in a few. A few tweets that made me laugh:
#TextMessagesFromAStalker why wont you txt back? (after they already text you a 100 times)
#TextMessagesFromAStalker u won’t answer my phone calls or respond to my text so I filled out a app where u work. I start next Monday.
#TextMessagesFromAStalker so I just called you and watched you look at the phone and igg my call.. Why did you do that ?
#TextMessagesFromAStalker “stop falling asleep & leaving your tv on a night ”
#TextMessagesFromAStalker “You said you were feeling under the weather, but clearly you’re @ the bar enjoying your Patron. What’s up w/that?
Stalking is not anything to poke fun at, it’s scary, invasive and illegal. But, these texts are hilarious in a human-nature-is-a-strange-thing/you-can’t-make-this-up kinda way.
My turn. Got this on FB. I’m not too worried about it. I think it was a form letter:
Please my beautiful angel, I’m for real and serious to cherish and honor you if you can give me the chance. What matters is your happiness and joy. You need someone who can value and honor you as a gift of God to man, Is hard to find, but am here for you. Reach me on my inbox: firstname.lastname@example.org Or text me on my cell number: +23470684515xx
What’s the weirdest text/email you ever received?
PS – I didn’t write back.
